Why It Matters
Modern processors don’t always deliver uniform performance across all cores. Some may be faster due to chip architecture, silicon quality, thermal conditions or power delivery.
Compare core-to-core performance and see which cores are your strongest performers, for insight into optimizing workloads.
Especially useful on processors with hybrid architectures that mix performance and efficiency cores.
SMT (AMD) and Hyper-Threading (Intel) let two logical threads share the execution units of one physical core. That boosts throughput, but the shared access can sometimes hinder demanding tasks. ThreadRacer shows whether SMT or HT helps or hurts a workload.
